Halacha and the Changing Role of Women in Society
Yeshivat Torat Yosef-Hamivtar is excited to announce the opening of its summer learning program focusing on the changing role of women within society, and their effect on different areas of Halacha. The program is geared towards men and women and runs for 8 weeks, from the beginning of June to the end of July, with each 2-week period forming an independent session.
Mornings Will be devoted to studying individual topics as part of the general theme of the program. Learning will include a survey of sources from the Gemara through the classic commentators up to modern decisors.
Afternoons Will be devoted to Jewish philosophy and Tanach. Shiurim will focus on comparisons between secular and Jewish philosophy and comparisons between biblical criticism and classic Jewish commentary.
Each session will include a Shabbaton and a day trip and conclude with a guest speaker.
Campus and Tuition
The campus is located in the pastoral region of Gush Etzion, only a 15 minute ride South of Jerusalem. Nearby is Efrat's commercial center which includes various fast food venues, supermarkets, book stores, a post office and ATM.
Tuition is $250, per session, and includes full room and board, 3 meals a day, classes and lectures, a Shabbaton and a day trip.
